Cruise Room Bar
Walking down the street we were looking for a place to stop for a cocktail and saw the attractive Oxford Hotel and stopped in the bar. A great looking place, the throwback to the glory days of fine accommodations and elegant cocktails. Our bartender Caleb (or more accurately, alcohol chef) was fantastic. Not only did he expertly prepare our delicious cocktails, but he was interesting and very informative. The bar is curated with an excellent selection of spirits and house-made bitters and aromatics. When asked about some of the lesser known (to me) spirits Caleb was a font of knowledge and understanding about the flavors, uses and the exotic (sometimes vintage) libations made with them. Why they were used and how they complimented the beverage. Caleb was a veritable encyclopedia of interesting drinks, the history of cocktails and their lineage. In addition to knowing history, he also made recommendations for other cocktails we might like based on our tastes.

The sound quality was fine and seats were great. The only drawback was posted concert and escaping if you weren’t up for walking–utter chaos getting a cab, lots of traffic so plan ahead!
